Helukabel Opens 26th Subsidiary in Portugal
Elgin, IL — Helukabel, an interna- tional cable manufacturer, has opened a new branch in Portugal, its 26th branch worldwide. Cables and wires, predominantly for industrial applications, from conventional con- trol cables to highly-flexible data ca- bles, will soon be stored in a 6,500 ft2 (604m2) warehouse in Coimbra, lo- cated between the industrial centers of Lisbon and Porto. “There is a thriving electrical in-
dustry in Portugal, and developments in the mechanical engineering and re- newable energy industries are also very promising. Applications in these industries are increasingly becoming more sophisticated, which is in turn making the requirements on cables and connection technology higher as well,” says Eduardo Soares, director of the new branch. “Helukabel’s top- quality, internationally certified prod- ucts, together with our local service network, will allow us to meet these increasing demands.” “Portugal is an interesting mar-
ket for us. We believe that the posi- tive economic growth from the last

RAMPF Breaks Ground for New Production Facility
Grafenberg, Germany —The RAMPF Group is expanding its production capacity at its Grafenberg, Germany, site. The new facility will provide tooling solutions with a total of ap- proximately 43,000 ft2 (4,000m2) over two levels and will produce styling, modeling and working boards made from polyurethane and expoxy. These are used in original, cubing, and presentation models, as well as in design and form studies across in- dustries including the automotive, motorsports, aerospace, shipbuild- ing, and wind energy sectors. “With both RAMPF Tooling So-
lutions and RAMPF Polymer Solu- tions showing excellent growth, we have decided to launch an additional production facility at our Grafenberg site,” explains RAMPF Holding CEO Matthias Rampf. “The new building will give both companies the physical capacity for further growth and also create new jobs.” At a total cost of about $12 mil-
lion, the two-story production facility is the largest investment RAMPF has made. The facility will be built adjacent to the company’s existing Innovation Center. Once construc- tion is complete, the production ar-
eas currently used by RAMPF Tool- ing Solutions and RAMPF Polymer Solutions will be handed over in full to RAMPF Polymer Solutions. “The space that will be freed up when the new building is ready is crucial, as global demand for RAMPF casting resin systems for sealing, bonding, casting, and coating has significantly increased in the last few years,” says
