How did you come to open the Essex Laser Clinic?

“I took voluntary redundancy from the NHS in April 2014. Leading up to that, I knew I was ready to run my own business, but was unsure what to do. I was at the time having a course of Lipolysis myself at another clinic in Essex, and I thought the concept was great. However, the machine, location and set-up of the business weren’t. It was then I decided ‘I can do this… but better!’

“On my last session of my course, the owner told me she had sold the business, which was a franchise, as it wasn’t for her. Sadly she didn’t have the passion, which I believe is important when running any business. I researched and had demos for many machines to find the right one – NRG BodyPerfect was by far the best out there, a decision I have never regretted.”

How important was choosing the right location for your salon?

“This was quite easy, as I had already researched this and there was nothing in my area for 20 miles. I could not afford to purchase the equipment and pay for premises, so I started by turning a room in my house into a clinic. This cut down on the overheads and allowed me to choose the right equipment and market my business.”

What is the ethos of your salon?

“Results! If my clients do not get a result, I feel I have failed. They come to me to achieve something, whether it is to lose inches, have younger / fresher looking skin, or stop having to shave or wax, therefore my ultimate aim is to give them what they come for. Thankfully, due to the quality of my machines and my training and experience, this is 100% achievable.”

What makes your salon experience unique?

“I am a mature therapist who understands people. When clients come to me, they are made to feel instantly relaxed, motivated and positive about their goal. My aim is for 100% results – I think I pretty much achieve that.”

What is important to you when choosing a product range or piece of equipment?

“Results. Compromising on price may not help in the long term, so having equipment that repeatedly produces results is the best investment I can make.”

“For example, NRG BodyPerfect treatments are my main business and how I started. The science is amazing and it really works!”

The NRG BodyPerfect system.

What have been your key achievements as a salon owner?

“I purchased my first machine, the NRG BodyPerfect in May 2014 followed by the NRG Ice IPL machine in October 2014. In October 2015, I had a bespoke clinic built in my back garden which I am very proud of. I have a client base of over 200 and a catalogue of testimonials and before and after results pictures, these constantly remind me of what a success my business has become in less than two years. In the next 12 months, I plan to move to a commercial premise and employ a member of staff to increase the amount of clients we can see.”

Speaking of the future, what’s in store for the Essex Laser Clinic over the next 12 months?

“I love technology. I am extremely interested in anti-ageing and non-surgical

treatment review:

During my time at the Essex Laser Clinic, I experienced one of the salon’s signature treatments – the NRG BodyPerfect, which aims to deliver targeted inch loss without the need for surgery. Indeed after viewing an impressive array of before and after results images which Amanda’s clients had previously obtained, I was suitably enthusiastic to try out for myself.

During my initial consultation, I decided to focus on my waist, stomach and hips. After settling on the couch, Amanda placed the system’s paddles securely onto these areas with Velcro belts with smaller Probe Lasers also positioned over the appropriate lymphatic glands and thus, my treatment commenced.

The NRG BodyPerfect dual frequency Laser Lipolysis system utilises 12 paddles in total and 136 cold Laser diodes which permeate up to 13mm to the subcutaneous fat layer. The technology causes the fat cell to spill its contents, which are then absorbed and processed naturally by the lymphatic system, whilst toning and tightening the skin tissue.

One of the reasons as to why the treatment has become so popular is thanks to its non- invasive nature. The NRG BodyPerfect system creates no necrosis of the fat cells, damage to the peripheral nerves or surrounding tissue. Throughout the 40-minute protocol, I was completely relaxed and only felt a mild, warming sensation. In fact, Amanda explained how many of her clients pop in on their lunch break for treatment and simply return to work immediately after as no downtime is required.

For maximum results, a course of treatments is recommended yet even after a single session I experienced notable inch loss. After comparing my before and after photos, my waist, stomach and hips appeared more defined with smoother contours helping to emphasise my shape. So if you’re looking for a body sculpting treatment that not only delivers on its initial promise, but also provides a soothing pain-free experience for your clients, then the NRG BodyPerfect could just provide the answer.

facelifts and this will possibly be my next investment to the business. Whatever it will be, it will be a machine that consistently and noticeably produces results, as that is what I am all about.”

Finally, do you have any words of wisdom for securing a successful career within the industry?

“It’s better to be fantastic at three things than average at 10! I have deliberately not introduced lots of treatments into my clinic as I want to specialise in the treatments that I offer. Traditional nail, waxing, massage and facial salons will always be around, but that’s just not for me.”

Amanda secures the system’s paddles into place.
