Fake Bake sponsors awards ceremony

Fake Bake are lending their support to the Scottish hair and beauty industry by sponsoring the second annual Look Awards in association with Phorest.

The awards acknowledge Scotland’s talent in the health, beauty and aesthetics industries with categories such as ‘Make-up Artist of the Year’, ‘Cosmetic Clinic of the Year’ and ‘Hair Salon of the Year’ to name just a few.

Sandra Vaughan, who was responsible for bringing Fake Bake to the UK 15 years ago, says: “We are delighted to be supporting this year’s annual Look Awards, in association with The Herald and Sunday Herald. At Fake Bake, we are truly committed to excellence and appreciate the importance of recognising and rewarding those working within the industry in Scotland. As a global brand, Digital Marketing is of upmost importance to us and so with this in mind, sponsoring the ‘Best Social Media’ category in this year’s awards was the ideal fit. We are looking forward to sitting on the judging panel and receiving all your entries very soon.”

The glowing bride

With wedding season almost upon us, Natalie Roche, Founder and Managing Director of Natalie Roche Ltd has given her tips to help you boost tanning sales in your salon. With brides desperate to look their best, they’ll be looking to you for expert advice.

Natalie says: “It’s so important for clients to trial the brand and colour of their spray tan before the big day. This will ensure they achieve the depth of colour they want, they will by happy with how it fades, and can take some practice pictures in different lighting to check the colour on camera.

“As many clients won’t have had a tanning treatment before, they may not realise that a spray or hand applied tan can’t just be applied the night before. So when they book in, advise on timings, and find out if they have anything else planned for the same day. If they’re really pushed for time, use Xen-Tan Mist Ultra, it’s the world’s first express 30 Minute Spray Tan Treatment, and the guide colour can be rinsed of in just 30 minutes!”
