product from the manicure and pedicure lines and, to their horror, asked them to take it away in preparation for a five-minute presentation on themselves and the product they were issued. Going back to my early presenting days, this would have been my worst nightmare, but the girls took it on the chin and tried not to show their fear.

On Day Two, the enthusiasm was high, and after a night of Tapas and Txakoli wine, the Barcelona realness had sunk in – this was going to be a great day. The focus for this day was correct company application on soak-off gel and LED hard gels to which they breezed through with ease at an exceptional standard. It was like being in a room of sponges as they absorbed every piece of information I relayed to them, which is always a winning combo.
On the third day, the dreaded finale had come – it was my time to take a back seat and watch the educators educate me. I felt somewhat like a judge on The X Factor as I was scoring each of the girls on their performance, knowledge and presence. Although I can’t understand a word of Spanish, my translator friend Dani explained every important word to me that the educators were saying. As the last few stood up to do their thing, the mood in the room turned from a tense and worried atmosphere to a calm and relaxed one. The day finally came to a close with the certificate issuing and picture taking that always follows a great trip.
Spanish passion
The educators in Spain are a prime example of the types of people any company would love to have, as each one had a passion that shone through and was evident through the sheer precision and thought that they put in to every last nail. I could see that they all had a need to be the best they could be which was humbling for me to observe – this is what makes me want to do better, and what education and being an educator is all about!
Until next time…
