Phase One of Pike and Rose, a mixed- use development, includes a 174-unit apartment building, new iPic Theaters, AMP by Strathmore performance venue, and a number of restaurants, such as Summer House, Stella Barra, and Del Frisco’s Grille. iPic Theaters opened last October, dubbing itself “The Ultimate Movie Experience.” The theater boasts large, red-leather reclin- ing chairs, elegant hallways adorned with art, craft cocktails made with seasonal ingredients, plus tableside service.
AMP by Strathmore is a new 240-seat concert venue at Pike and Rose. Food and beverage is provided by Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which is best known for fried things (Birch and Barley), doughnuts (GBD) and excellent sausages and sandwiches (Red Apron Butchery). Service begins before showtime, and food and drinks can be ordered during performances. AMP by Strathmore is a unique, contemporary venue created as a place for staging amazing events. With a flexible layout, floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to Juliet balconies, and a comfortable pre-function space, it’s ideal for everything from parties to

corporate meetings. AMP also boasts one of the most highly sought after caterers in the DC area, 550 Events and Provisions, as part of its in-house team that designs personalized culinary experiences every time. This venue can accommodate 250 seated or up to 350 for a standing reception.
Hilton’s New Canopy Hotel Concept will be coming to Pike and Rose, as well. It is a 177-room hotel set to open in 2016.
Clarksburg Premium Outlets® at Cabin Branch is expected to open in 2016 and will bring upscale outlet shopping to the town of Clarksburg in the densely populated northwest Washington, DC suburbs of Montgomery County. Featuring beautifully landscaped promenades, children’s play areas and outdoor gathering places, the outlet center not only will be a place to find designer clothes and have a family dinner, but so much more, as well.
City Place Mall in Silver Spring will undergo a renovation and will be renamed Ellsworth Place. Upgrades will include signs, lighting and video screens that will hang from the existing metal framework that wraps around the building's older portion, which was orig- inally built as a Hecht's department store in the 1940s.
