Cambria Hotel and Suites is a brand new hotel in Rockville at the Rockville Town Square just outside of Washington, DC. It opened in mid-May 2015 with 140 guest rooms that are equipped with everything from bluetooth audio-enabled bathroom mirrors to keyless check-in (the latter being the new hallmark of high-tech hotels). Bedroom TVs allow guests to stream Netflix, Hulu or other video streaming services from their own devices, as well.
The new Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington, DC North in Gaithersburg officially opened in March 2015. The hotel features 1,700-square feet of meeting space and 123 guest suites with Homewood Suites’ modern design well suited for short- and long-term extended stay guests. All suites include a sofa bed and fully equipped kitchen, while guests also enjoy free daily breakfast and an evening weekday reception. This new, pet-friendly hotel also features an outdoor putting green, outdoor swimming pool, outdoor BBQ and gazebo area, and an indoor spa. Complimentary parking and shuttle service also is provided for guests.
Early this year, Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda renovated its indoor food court and dubbed it the Dining Terrace. Its new design includes skylights, spacious, circular booths, stylish modular chairs, low-slung benches and real trees. The Dining Terrace also is bringing in new restaurants to the area, such as Wicked Waffle, Lobster ME, Crave, Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria, and others.
