Hotel Indigo Baltimore, also in Mount Vernon, a national designated historic district, opened in June 2015 following a $20 million renovation and offers 170 rooms. The original downtown building, which itself is a national historic land- mark, was the first YMCA in Baltimore. A pet-friendly hotel, it boasts 4,000- square feet of meeting space, close proximity to the convention center and also to the Amtrak station.
Hotel RL Baltimore, which opened in August 2015, is Red Lion Hotels Corporation’s first hotel on the East Coast and is the first Hotel RL branded property for the Spokane, WA-based company. The new hotel is located in the Inner Harbor’s historic Keyser Building and opened following a $19 million renovation. The concept is designed for millennial-minded travelers
with an open pavilion-style lobby and tiered seating that is part café, part restaurant and part workspace lined with curated local art. The 130-room hotel features TED Talks-style programming and, instead of a traditional restaurant, a large central bar serving food.
The Hunt Valley Inn, a Wyndham Grand property located in North Baltimore, recently completed a $15 million dollar renovation. Minutes from Pimlico, home of the triple crown Preakness race, yet convenient to downtown’s Inner Harbor, the hotel offers 30,000-square feet of flexible meetings and event space, 18 multi-functional rooms, two redesigned ballrooms and a brand new events lawn.
The Hunt Valley Inn also offers compli- mentary parking for 900 guests, multiple restaurants and catering with newly re-
conceptualized menus, which are fully customizable.
In January, Visit Baltimore launched a new signature experiential tourism pro- gram for group tours and meeting and convention groups. It is a collection of 14 immersive and behind-the-scenes tours at some of the city’s top attrac- tions, such as the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, Fort McHenry, and Edgar Allan Poe House.
The Horseshoe Baltimore is an urban two-story casino that opened in August 2014. A Caesars Entertainment property, it offers 6,500-square feet of meeting space and is the second largest casino in Maryland with a 122,000-square foot gaming floor.
