The fifteenth annual Park Avenue Pet Costume Contest hosted by The Doggie Door in Winter Park was a huge success. It featured pet trick or treat in nearly 40 Park Avenue shops and a costume contest for all shapes and sizes. The event bene- fits the Sebastian Haul Fund, an organi- zation helping transport Central Florida Greyhounds to their adoptive families. This year, enough money was raised to help 80 Greyhounds reach their new families. SebastianHaulFund.org

A special thanks to super dog- friendly Ferg’s Sport Bar & Grill in St. Petersburg for helping out Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay. A last minute change in plans meant they had to move their annu- al Dal-Loween Fundraising event, and Ferg’s stepped up to the doggie bowl. St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue even brought their brand new ladder truck. The event raised $4500 which will go towards helping more Dalmatians.

Jackson’s Bistro Bar & Sushi on the water- front in Downtown Tampa has become a well-known dog-friendly restaurant. The service is warm and friendly, and especially accommodating to dog lovers wanting to hold events and fundraisers. The Bistro has a regular monthly Yappy Hour and hosted a Halloween Yappy Hour on October 28. The Tampa Bay Chihuahua Meet-up Group was well-represented as the dog parade proceeded over the bridge, stopping onlookers. Proceeds benefited LIMBO Chihuahuas Rescue. LimboChihuahuas.org
