we had the opportunity to speak with a couple of loyal customers. The one com- mon denominator that resonated with us was the length of time these folks have been customers of Fuzzie Buddies. That is a pretty strong testament on the level of service and customer care offered there. Blake is a 10-year-old American

Field Labrador. His humans, the Cowans have been bringing Blake to Fuzzie Buddies at least once a week since he was a puppy. “It was a very new concept at the time, but we felt it would be good for Blake’s socialization skills. And then, when- ever we needed to go out of town, it was- n’t traumatic for Blake to board there. He was already familiar with the surroundings and knew the staff,” said Ruth Cowan. him to either Tampa General or Moffitt Cancer Center at least once a week. “It is very rewarding for us both,” said Ruth. “We spend between four and five hours at the facility. When he comes home, my husband and I make sure he gets plenty of rest. He really works with those kids and I can tell it takes a lot out of

him, especially now that he is older,” said When a customer experiences something far beyond

what was expected, and tells one of their friends, that is one of the most credible forms of advertising. Good word-of-mouth has the ability to steer dozens of new customers to a business. That may explain the success and longevity of Tampa's Fuzzie Buddies Pet Resort. Recommended by veterinarians and trainers, the boarding

and daycare facility was opened in 2003 by father and daughter team, Ernie and Edie Wilhoit. “Fuzzie Buddies has been recog- nized as one of the top 10 pet resorts in the United States,” noted Dr. Eddie Garcia of South Tampa’s Veterinary Medical Clinic & Feline Wellness Center. Ruth. “The moment he shows me he is not interested anymore will be the day he stops working as a therapy dog. It really is all about Blake.” He also enjoys getting dressed up and traveling. “When we

visit our family in the Midwest, Blake travels with us,” said Ruth. “But, when it isn’t conducive for him to travel with us, we board him at Fuzzie Buddies.” What’s not to love? There are two pools and boarding

options, including king, queen and luxury suites. “Blake always stays in the luxury suite,” laughed Ruth. “And, we can check in on him via closed circuit television. I totally trust Edie and her staff. They follow our instructions for Blake. The peace of mind alone is worth what we pay,” said Ruth.
