Woofstock events are held all over Florida throughout the year, from Key West to Gainesville, and everywhere in between, including two separate Woofstock events in Tampa Bay. Earth Pets Organic of Gainesville

hosted the 4th Annual WoofStock to ben- efit Paws on Parole on August 30 and 31. This was also a meet and greet for the shelter dogs going into the Paws on Parole Program. They would be paired with an inmate from either the Florida Department of Corrections or the Alachua County Jail for training, in an effort to increase adoptions of shelter pets. The dogs live with and are trained by the inmates during the eight-week pro- gram, learning basic skill necessary to pass the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test. The Paws on Parole

celebrated all things dog, music and peace, on September 20, with the second annual Woofstock in Tampa’s Hyde Park. For a $15 donation, guests received an event t- shirt, beverage and raffle ticket then were treated to the sounds of live music by the band Eccentric. Vendor booths were busy as guests arrived and quickly bought out the supply of t-shirts. The event was spon- sored in part by Fuzzie Buddies, The New Barker and Sunny’s Biskits. Store partnered with TampaPets.org to host the first annual Woofstock of Original Carrollwood Park on November 1. The weather was perfect with blue skies and a pretty good breeze, that kept the vendors on their feet. Everyone - from the wide variety of vendors to the guests - seemed to enjoy the live entertainment, food and adoptables. Bailey, the Dining Doggie Diva for The New Barker served as the Grand Marshal of the Super Hero’s Parade. Marti Ryan, with Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center, emceed the event that included around 35 vendors and 18 rescue groups. TampaPets.org is a coalition of local

rescue groups in Tampa Bay that works closely with local businesses to raise awareness about each other.
