The greatest canine athletes on planet earth flew high and bit hard at the 2014 Hyperflite Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Competitors from China, Japan, Canada, Italy, Holland, Spain, Germany and the United States vied for this coveted title. Florida was very well represented. Rather than prancing on carpet, like the


primped and pampered pooches at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, these amazing canine athletes gouged out chunks of turf as they raced to snag spinning flying discs in midair. There were spectacular demonstra- tions of canine athleticism including acrobatic twisting leaps that seemed to defy gravity. When the dust settled, Lawrence Frederick of Jacksonville, Florida, along with his canine Zorra, (shown left) became the 2014 Skyhoundz Open Division World Canine Disc Champions.
