Sarasota coffee drinkers have been stocking up on their fresh roasted coffee beans for years. Every Saturday at the lush, colorful and very dog-friendly Sarasota Farmers Market, there is always a line around the big red double decker Java Dawg Craft Roasted Coffee bus. One can even enjoy a cup of freshly-brewed Java Dawg on top of the double decker bus. It’s a great vantage point for planning out the market’s shop- ping itinerary. During the week, Chris Keesecker, owner and head coffee roaster at Java Dawg Craft Roasted Coffee, can be found traveling around Florida, showcasing his line of coffee beans to wholesalers and restaurateurs. Call Chris at 941.284.6742 or follow them on Facebook at Java Dawg Coffee.

a very good year for the dog.

Winemaker and owner of Mutt Lynch Winery out of California, Brenda Lynch released a limited produc- tion series of wines called mbf (Man’s Best Friend). One of the wines, the mbf Primitivo, was awarded the 2009 Best of Class by the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The Zinfandel and Petite Sirah have garnered a combined two Best of Class, five Silver and five Bronze Medals as well. Lynch is something of a rare breed herself. Less

than 10 percent of California winemakers are women. And she regularly pays it forward by helping other women in the field, in addition to donating a portion of the winery’s proceeds to animal rescue. In Florida, the mbf series of wines may be found

in Gainesville at Earth Pets Organics; Unleashed - Fetching Wine & Gourmet Gifts, located within The Doggie Door Boutique in Winter Park; Sarasota at Wet Noses Boutique on Main Street.
