Koelnmesse: In the heart of Europe and easy to reach In its role as a trade fair city, Cologne is once again aiming to provide the best conditions for doing successful business and having an unforgettable overall experience. Cologne is located in the heart of the European Union. Some 180 million Europeans live within a 500 km radius of Cologne. They represent a disproportionately large share of the gross domestic product of the European Union. The exhibition centre’s location and accessibility are also excellent. The trade fair facilities are only a stone’s throw from the city centre of Cologne. The train station at Messe/Deutz, which is directly adjacent to Koelnmesse, is connected to the regional, national and international rail network. Some 15,000 parking spaces with a direct connection to the European motorway network are located right next to the halls. Cologne/Bonn Airport – only eight minutes away from the exhibition centre by train – is Europe’s biggest hub for low- cost carriers and serves 120 destinations in Germany and abroad. Four other international airports – Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Brussels and Düsseldorf – can be quickly reached from Koelnmesse via ICE trains. Koelnmesse also offers a special service to visitors when it comes to finding accommodation. It cooperates with around 120 partner hotels in Cologne and the surrounding area, all of which offer the best possible rates for trade fair participants and around 90,000 beds are available in Cologne and the surrounding area, ranging from suites in first-class hotels to premium hotel rooms and simple rooms in bed-and-breakfast accommodation.
