By Jon Wadeson T

he next aquanale, the International Trade Fair for Sauna, Pool, Ambience, will take place from 22 to 25 October 2013 in Cologne and

this year, will run in association with FSB, the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities. Around 1,000 exhibitors from the sport, games, swimming pool, sauna and wellness sector and more than 25,000 trade visitors (including those attending FSB) are expected in Cologne. “The conditions have been created for another successful aquanale, organised in association with FSB. Together with its partners, the trade fair city of Cologne is looking forward to an aquanale that will benefit all of the sector participants who are involved,” said Katharina Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, at the European Trade Press conference in Cologne.

In cooperation with the trade fair’s Advisory Board and the participating associations which include the Federal Association for Swimming Pools and Wellness (bsw), the Association for Sauna Construction, Infrared and Steam Bath Technology (BSB) and, for the FSB swimming pool area, the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS), Koelnmesse has significantly improved and expanded both the concepts and the content of the trade fair and is looking forward to this year’s next wave of exhibitors and trade visitors.

AN EXPANDED CONCEPT AND THE THEMED WORLDS

The biggest developments for the trade fair duo of aquanale and FSB are the changes to the scheduling. Starting this year, aquanale will run from Tuesday to Friday – just like FSB.

The swimming pool areas of both trade fairs will be presented in the adjoining halls and the swimming pool and wellness areas will be clearly divided into themed worlds. Thanks to this new arrangement, Koelnmesse will create an integrated and clearly structured display of the public and private swimming pool and sauna sectors. Companies that have up to now offered products and services for both the public and private swimming pool sectors will now benefit from the immediate proximity of various themed worlds. The new layout of the different swimming pool areas of aquanale and FSB in adjoining halls makes it possible for national and international trade fair visitors from local authorities, water worlds, swimming pool construction firms, hotels, sanitation, heating and cooling technology (SHC) companies, architectural and planning firms, as well as private visitors, to easily gather information about the innovative and extremely varied range of interesting products on show, without having to walk long distances.

Thanks to the straightforward layout and the improved use of signage, visitors will find

it easy to find their way around using the new theme arrangement of the swimming pools, saunas, spas and wellness areas. The area for public pool construction featuring FSB exhibitors in Hall 10.1 adjoins the themed world ‘Swimming Pool and Water Technology’, which forms the connecting element between public pools and the private swimming pool area of aquanale. Also located in this hall is the Cologne Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum, the umbrella brand for the swimming pool and wellness areas. The forum will be expanded to include a pool planning and pool architecture forum which is aimed at visitors from the public pool sector. An additional highlight in this hall will be the special show presented by the European Waterpark Association for the leisure pool segment on the theme of ‘Swimming Pool Worlds’. In Hall 10.2 visitors will find the aquanale areas ‘Sauna & Spa’ and ‘Private Spa’ as well as the themed world of ‘Green Livinga with products and services for natural pools, swimming ponds, biological water treatment, garden design and outdoor living. The innovative ‘Day Spa’ and the special show ‘Green Living’ are expected to be particularly eye-catching presentations in this hall.
