Improved Offering For Pool & Spa At LIW 2013

WE PREVIEW POOL & SPA ATLIW, THE ANNUAL THREE DAY SHOW AT THE NEC THAT AIMS TO GIVE COMMERCIAL OPERATORS AND END USERS THE COMPLETE PACKAGE

P

ool & Spa at LIW is the annual meeting place for the UK’s commercial pool and spa professionals. From underwater treadmills to filtration systems to water play features, visitors to the show will find fresh ideas for their wet leisure facilities. Taking place 24 – 26 September at the NEC in Birmingham, not for the first time the show is set against a background of cost control, public sector savings, improved efficiencies and as many ideas as they can get to reduce operating costs. But while it’s tough for pool and spa operators and managers, the visitors of the show, speak to suppliers within the pool and spa industry and you’ll find that the commercial sector is holding up very well versus the domestic side of things. And it’s no real surprise. According to a recent report, there are 4,674 swimming pool facilities in the UK accessible by the public and 84% of the UK’s population are within two miles of a pool. Swimming has also been in the news. Prince William has been campaigning for every child’s right to learn to swim, so it’s no wonder the pool and spa industry is enjoying continued popularity and holding up well despite the difficult economic environment. In addition to new and innovate products and services that will be showcased, LIW also provides a platform to raise awareness of the importance of learning to swim to an audience of thousands of leisure professionals plus provides opportunities for staff to become more knowledgeable. New for 2013, the STA are building a 12m x 6m pool called The STA Swim Zone where buyers will be able to see live demos of the latest methods to diversify their offering and much more. With end users looking to improve the way
