Setting The Scene For The Best SPATEX Ever!

FOLLOWING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THEIR MOVE TO A NEW VENUE IN COVENTRY FOR 2014, IT’S FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR THE SPATEX TRADE SHOW WHICH PROMISES NEXT YEAR’S EVENT WILL BE BIGGER AND BETTER THAN ANY OF THE PREVIOUS SHOWS TO DATE

W

ith just six months to go before the curtain is raised on SPATEX 2014’s exciting new venue at the Ricoh Arena,

plans are shaping up “nicely” reports the Show’s Organiser, Michele Bridle. “We are delighted with our choice of the Ricoh Arena and the fact that exhibition space is now over three quarters sold-out shows that the industry endorses the move, but we are not satisfied with that,” says Michele. “Indeed the SPATEX Team met again in early July to firm up further ideas and marketing opportunities. SPATEX 2014 Ricoh-style promises to be bigger and better than anything that has gone before in the Show’s illustrious 18-year history.”

SHOWING ITS CREDENTIALS Aside from “Being By the Industry, For the Industry”, SPATEX is often talked about as being “The Exhibition which attracts the experts” and Michele is delighted that the Show has secured the welcome return of the world’s leading Cryptosporidium expert, Consultant Clinical Scientist Rachel Chalmers, to give the latest information on counteracting the infection. When Rachel gave a talk at SPATEX 2013 on the subject, there was standing room only! And with an increase in the number of Cryptosporidium cases in UK swimming pools, this is an issue that is of interest to the whole of the industry. Rachel is just one of many experts who will be gracing SPATEX with their presence. The ISPE (the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers) will once again be holding its regular programme of technical workshops, focusing on a wide range of current and highly relevant subjects, with an emphasis on saving money, energy and water. And, with the backing of all the major distributors, we are holding a unique, dedicated Leisure Operators’ Day on Tuesday 4 February, consisting of valuable training and workshops for managers and leisure operators from leading industry experts.

LET SPATEX ENTERTAIN YOU There’s so much planned for the three days of the Show that it is advisable to book at least a night’s stay. With that in mind, SPATEX has organised special rates with over 12 hotels in the Coventry area including the Ricoh’s De Vere Hotel. Go to www.spatex.co .uk and

the exhibit or visit buttons for the drop down menu and ‘staying there’ for a list of hotels and a SPATEX booking code. Sunday night is the industry’s Gala Dinner & Dance to be held in the impressive E.ON Lounge overlooking the stadium and featuring the SPATA & BISHTA Awards. In addition, a less formal evening is offered in the Ricoh’s Bar with buffet supper and the option to join the Gala Dinner when the dancing starts! Monday night will be dedicated to a special

SPATEX evening in the Ricoh’s G-Casino with live entertainment and Bistro menu.

DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT…

Stephen Crabb MISPE Managing Director Catalina Spas Ltd: “At Catalina we are all looking forward to the move to the Ricoh Arena in 2014. Brighton has been very good for us over the years but we feel a change will provide the organisers with a new ‘story’ that will, without doubt, generate interest and, we hope, a good following and support from our industry. We must remember that SPATEX’s profits support and promote our industry. We are looking forward to the Exhibition being all on one level, with the promise of a fast and easy build up and break down. Catalina is confident it will allow SPATEX to grow and encourage more exhibitors and visitors. Well done SPATEX – let’s make it an event to remember!” Golden Coast will be using SPATEX 2014 to showcase Triogen UV and Ozone systems, which it has just taken over the

exclusive UK distribution for. MD Jamie Adams says: “The move to a more central, easier to access location was overdue but everyone at Golden Coast feels the wait has been well worth it and we’re really looking forward to exhibiting at SPATEX 2014 in the Ricoh Stadium. The fact that the venue is easier for us to access is a positive but most importantly is that the central location will make the show so much easier for everyone in the wet leisure industry to come and visit and find out more about the innovations and profit opportunities we are already working on for next year.”

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Michele adds: “The centrally located Ricoh Arena, just 500 yards off the M6 and within two hours commuting time of 75% of the population, offers unparalleled, purpose- built exhibition facilities. With free unlimited parking; special lifting rates and quick and easy unloading in the purpose-built Jaguar Exhibition Hall, it is the most accessible venue in the UK.” SPN
