POOL LINERS

pattern, or with the Cambridge border, Tower Infinity offers exceptional chemical and ultraviolet resistance which reduces fading and increases the aesthetic quality of the pool liner over its lifetime. Tower Infinity is manufactured on an enhanced quality vinyl and includes UV and fade resistant inks under a multi layered protective top lacquer. Certikin’s exclusive range of contemporary tile band liners offers a wide range of options, opening a new avenue of colours and designs which can contrast greatly from the standard and commonly seen traditional ranges. Stock is held in two forms, a narrow width wall section with a pre-printed border over an exciting wall design, and then a wider floor section which is the same pattern as the background of the wall – hence the two combine together to form an all-over pattern with a distinctive co-ordinated tile band. Certikin have now been manufacturing liners for almost ten years – once the new kids on the block they are now firmly established within the liner market, and for good reason. With a pattern and colour range which continues to provide the traditional options but also challenge the ‘norm’, they offer a wider choice than ever before to liven up almost any pool. In-house state of the art design and cutting procedures ensure even the most complex shapes and sizes can be recreated which offers value for money that nobody else can match.

Their pool vinyls are sourced from the

world’s leading vinyl manufacturers: Canadian General Tower; Elbtal Plastics and Renolit, all of whom create materials to exacting standards and have a combined manufacturing experience of over 160 years. This range of supply allows Certikin to have the widest choice of patterns and colours available in the UK market, including many exclusive designs, without compromising quality. Modern design and manufacture techniques allow them to take these excellent materials and create a high quality liner for almost any size or shape of pool, including those with features such as ledges, freeform curves, cover pits and integral steps.

ADVANCING TECHNOLOGY WITH PLASTICA

Pool liners and their technology have greatly advanced over the years, none more so than the reinforced lining market.

Plastica have been site lining pools since

they introduced the system into the UK in 1988 and have successfully installed it into over 2,700 pools both in the commercial and domestic sectors.

Gone are the days of only having the choice of a plain liner with maybe the option of having a deluxe upgrade of a tile band. Now the options are greater with a wide choice of plain colours and patterns available. This means that a customer doesn’t have to go with the traditional blue in their pool but can go for sand colour, grey tiles, silver or whatever they feel will complement their pool and surroundings the best. With non-slip material available for step areas or shallow pools this also means that safety is another benefit with choosing a site lined pool plus the lining system is able to withstand higher temperatures and so is therefore suitable for use in a wide range of pools, including hydrotherapy pools.

There is now another exciting development coming on to the market with an even thicker grade that is reinforced and textured to look like natural material such as slate or stone, but at a much reduced cost than if they were to be the real thing. With a typical installation taking only a few days and no curing time it also means that downtime is kept to a minimum meaning the customer can get their pool back and running as soon as the pool is filled. On site lining can also be carried out throughout the year which can bring the added bonus of extra revenue when otherwise

a pool company would be looking for work. Plastica only use their own fully trained installers who spend a year doing both fully supervised in house and on site training to ensure they fully understand all aspects of the job.

One of the most asked questions they get is “What do you think?”. The answer is always the same “It’s your pool and you have got to live with it”. So the large range of options available these days can leave the customer with a dilemma about what pattern or colour to choose for their pool. Despite the economic downturn that has seen other revenues dropping, the reinforced site lining market has remained buoyant with demand even increasing this year as customers recognise that the product is the best choice for their pool. The high quality of both materials and workmanship that goes into a site lined pool ensures that pool companies both return and recommend the system as reliable and proven to the end user meaning they can have peace of mind that the lining they have chosen will stand the test of time. So, in summary, with this many options now available there’s something for everyone this summer. SPN
