Using Uganda’s vibrant Kampala as a base, this compact eight day adventure offers those short on time a life-changing experience in the forests of Uganda. Experienced trackers will take you deep into the region’s forests for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spot endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Our overland trucks are an adventurous and inexpensive way to see the highlights while wilderness camping will keep you in the thick of the action. Your Group Leader will take care of the planning so you’re free to explore all that Uganda has to offer. What a trip!
Itinerary & Sightseeing
Please note that all departures between January 1 and March 31, 2013 will be run in reverse. All destinations and inclusions will still be provided.
Day 1 Kampala (1D) Arrive at any time. › Day 2-3 Queen Elizabeth National Park (2B,2L,2D) Game drives for wildlife viewing. Take in the wilderness on an included boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. › Day 4-6 Gorilla Tracking/ Lake Bunyonyi (3B,3L,3D) Enjoy a one day guided mountain gorilla trek, then opt to rent a bike, canoe on the lake or just chill out. › Day 7 Mbarara (1B,1L,1D) Check out daily Ugandan life in the town of Mbarara, and shop the central market for souvenirs. › Day 8 Kampala (1B,1L) Cross the equator back to Kampala, where the tour ends upon arrival in the afternoon.
