Former Sibford pupil Daniel Hale caught up with his old art teacher Michael Spring when he took part in the Sibford School Artweeks exhibition in May. The school invited old scholars to join current pupils in taking part in the exhibition, and Daniel was one of those who submitted work for the show.
“I was a pupil at Sibford in the 1980s and Michael Spring was my art teacher when I was in the fourth and fifth year,” said Daniel. “Needless to say, art was one of my favourite lessons and I left with the top grade in GCSE. After Sibford, I attended college doing an art pre-foundation course, taking art A-level and retaking some GCSEs. I then did a foundation course before going to Loughborough College of Art and Design to study Fine Art.” Other old scholars taking part in the exhibition included Joanna Davis (1979~80), Erica Strofton (1959~63), Gill White (1949~53), Melissa Sturgeon (1991~93) and Philip Morris (1939~44) pictured below talking to School Committee member Kath Randall.
