travelled to Berlin in April for a three-day History tour. Years 10 and 11 study the Nazi period and
P
Cold War as part of their GCSE syllabus, and A level students complete a coursework assignment relating to the Holocaust, so the trip offered the opportunity to see some of the sights associated with these topics and to discover about the past of this exciting city. We enjoyed an action packed itinerary including visits to the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, Plotzensee, the 1936 Olympic Stadium, the Bendler Block, the Allied Airlift museum, the Stasi prison at Hohenschönhausen and the East Side Gallery.
The next trip to Berlin will be in April 2014.
