lively circle dance accompanied by some Tudor instruments including a psalter (similar to an oboe but with a double reed). The dance would have been enjoyed by ‘common’ people. For the more wealthy, our second dance, the pavane, reflected a more courtly and restrained style. The movements were very smooth and stately. After being Tudors for a day some of us thought that life might have been more fun as a Tudor but most of us thought that 21st Century life was better.
