Standing 46m tall and in the heart of the City of London, the Temple to Perspective represents the entire history of life on earth. Each centimetre of its height equates to 1 million years of life. A single band of gold, which is situated 1m from the ground and no more than 1mm thick, represents the entire existence of humankind.

Make’s design for a new street kiosk is a compact, rectangular box that transforms when it opens and its function is revealed. Te kiosk’s opening faces were developed using the concept of origami – folds and hinges in the material allow the panels to expand and contract, in the fashion of a concertina or a fan.

Arup Associates’ design for a hotel for insects was the competition’s winning entry in Beyond the Hive. Different insects require different habitats and environmental conditions to survive; the facade of the hotel consists of compartments based on a Voronoi pattern, generating voids of varying size.
