Oyako Mizu Irazu II (Facade Test Pieces)
Etched brass, plywood frame Michiko Sumi
In Japan, the phrase ‘oyako mizu irazu’ means something similar to ‘blood is thicker than water’ in English. Several marbling patterns were directly taken from the surface of Regent’s Canal, and incorporated onto the exterior of the building.

Te Sleeping Ruin: Te Brickworks at Dawn, 2045
Ink and wash Tom Reynolds
Te brickworks is a hybrid building; a re-imagining of the lost London brick industry and a research institute that proposes an imaged future for the Tames Estuary. A place for industry, it is also a space where architects and craftsman come to test, disseminate and project ideas.
1028 Suburbanstudio Paper, inkjet print, wire Ashton Porter Architects
In this studio, which is located in a typical Victorian suburban garden, the main facade floats above a glass panel and forms a screen to separate the work space from the domestic garden. Te typical green suburban garden is replaced by a landscape of activities including a heated paddling pool, a sand pit and a fire pit.
