Ink on paper

Keith Williams Architects

Te overall city plan is vast and of many different characteristics. Tis drawing shows an abstract from one of the denser parts of the city vision. Trough the absence of scale in the drawing, its context becomes distorted, resulting in many different possible interpretations.

Perspex model with timber base EM2B Architects

Te perspex model shows the massing and form of the proposed L-shaped house. Aiming to explore innovative architectural ideas, the proposal is part of EM2B’s study into L-shaped houses. Based around a central void, the house proposes a large cantilever, which creates sheltered spaces.

1041 Te Augmented Instrumentalist Backlit framed print on Duratran Emma-Kate Matthews

Te Augmented Instrumentalist proposes an acoustic pavilion on the edge of the Venetian Lagoon, which ‘remembers’ the acoustic character of Venice in its flooded state. Te piece exhibited is a composite drawing; it juxtaposes an explanation of the design process with drawings of the proposed design.

Te project explores the reuse and adaptation of urban residual surfaces. Te project implies that there are numerous advantages to connecting a series of sport fields as opposed to single-use sport venues – shared ancillary spaces, shared pedestrian and vehicle access, volumetric and spatial linkages – resulting in efficiency of use.

1043 Nantymoel Ii Gouache on paper Jacqueline Poncelet

Aspects of Peckham in London and Ogmore Vale in South Wales are evident in Poncelet’s paintings, seen in the overlapping translucent colours of the sky or the many flecks of colour that make up a landscape. Teir forms can be read as part of the geometry of architecture or the tiny spaces seen between buildings in the city.

1044 Surface_Spectrum

Layered acrylic with coloured film Surface Architects Ltd

Tis is an exploration into spatial possibilities created by complex, subtractive geometry. Influenced by programmatic, environmental and contextual requirements, these self-similar cutting elements intersect at different scales of feature. Te coloured residues result in a rich, immersive architecture.
