Taking a study of the South Bank of the River Tames as its starting point, this project proposes a language school, which floats above a cut in the landscape. Underground rooms house a reading hall, which becomes a wall of books, and teaching labs are housed in the tower.

Composition 09J Mixed media Chris Burrows
In this multi-dimensional space, linear is overlaid onto both linear and curvilinear, while three-dimensional geometries are overlaid onto two dimensional ones. While each component layer possesses simplicity and certainty, the interactions between them generates complexity and uncertainty. Composition 09J is one instance in an ongoing series of works, in a controlled yet open-ended process of evolution and exploration.
