Gryffe Scottish Country Dance Club
The club starts again on Thursday 12th January at 8pm in the Guide Centre and we look forward to welcoming back all present and past members for another session of fun dancing and sociable evenings.

Kilbarchan East Church Guild
meets on Tuesday 10th January, at 7.30pm in the church hall, when Mr Jim Moffat will give a talk on the General Assembly. We are holding a Mini Burns Supper on Tuesday, 24th January at 7.30pm. A warm welcome awaits members both old and new.
Councillor Arthur stands down
David Arthur, SNP councillor for the Johnstone North, Kilbarchan & Lochwinnoch Ward has announced that he is to stand down at the Council Elections in Renfrewshire next year.
Speaking of his decision, Cllr Arthur said “It is with regret that, due to personal reasons, I will not be standing for re-election next May. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the communities of Lochwinnoch, Kilbarchan and Johnstone for all the support they have given me over the last four years, and I am pleased to endorse Ken Macdonald as my successor as SNP candidate.”
Ken, a retired accountant, has lived in the area for over twenty-five years, and has brought up a family here. Having been very active in the local community and villages he has been involved in several campaigns in support of local residents. He has worked closely with councillors, past and present, for several years.

The Old Library Centre, Kilbarchan
The Old Library Centre Team hopes you all had a good time over the Festive period and that some of you may be thinking about new activities for the New Year.
The Centre offers a variety of interests for you to try. There are group meetings of Bridge, Photography, Family History, Book Club, Craft and for the more energetic there is Yoga and Pilates.
For those wishing a challenge there is Computing. The three classes, taught by Reid Kerr tutors, offer a variety of opportunities to learn differing skills from absolute basic usage up to the level of attaining the ECDL qualification.
The Centre has a number of bookings for 2012 and we are looking forward to working with Nomad Music who are introducing their portable music school by holding a session in the Old Library Centre on Sunday, 8th
