Kilmacolm Community Photographer of the Year – 2012?

The Kilmacolm Community Council is considering sponsoring a photographic competition to find the Kilmacolm Community Photographer of the Year – 2012 and the Kilmacolm Community Junior Photographer of the Year – 2012 which would be open to residents in the Kilmacolm and Quarriers Village community council area.

The thinking is that there would be several different categories of subjects and each photograph entered must have been taken in the year 2012 with the photographer positioned inside the boundaries of Kilmacolm/Quarriers community council area. If the competition goes ahead it would be the intention that the entries will be displayed in the Kilmacolm Community Centre in February 2013 and a panel of judges – including two professional photographers - will decide the winners of each category and the Kilmacolm Community Photographer of the Year – 2012 and the Kilmacolm Community Junior Photographer of the Year – 2012. It is hoped that it will be possible to award cash prizes to the winners.

The Kilmacolm Community Council wishes to gauge how much local interest there is for such a competition before going ahead with any more planning. Any one who is interested in competing for the Kilmacolm Community Photographer of the Year – 2012 or the Kilmacolm Community Junior Photographer of the Year – 2012 awards should please email info@ kilmacolmcc.co.uk during January 2012 giving their age if under 18 at the start of 2012. Save any photographs taken in 2012 within the boundaries of Kilmacolm/Quarriers community council area just in case they may be winners!

Festive Refuse Collections

Over the festive period, collections in Inverclyde will move forward by one day continuing until the 7th January 2012.
