"Really, the sky is the limit when it comes to customizing cruises here on the Spirit of Philadelphia,” he continued. “We're like a land-based venue on the water. Without set cruise times and lengths, planners have more options. For example, they can head out with their group on a cruise for an hour, then come back and dock the ship and continue the event for an additional hour. This gives attendees the option to stay or go, depending on their schedule."

The flexibility of the Spirit extends to event options, as well. "We have hosted casino themed events that have had table games set up on one deck while their dining tables and entertainment were set up on another. We offer a wide range of options."

While the Spirit of Philadelphia offers a modern, contemporary design and feel, another vessel along the Philadelphia waterfront offers options for group outings in a one-of-a-kind setting that is unlike any- thing else in the area.

“The Philadelphia Belle was originally christened as the Mississippi Belle II in 1994 and made its way

along the

Mississippi River for cruises and entertain- ing," said Ryan O'Connor, CTIS, director of sales for the Philadelphia Belle. At one point the ship was even used as a riverboat casino for a time before being purchased, relocated, renovated and re-christened as the Philadelphia Belle in 2010.

After undergoing a $2 million rejuvenation, the new Philadelphia Belle made its debut in the City of Brotherly Love last December. A paddlewheel-style riverboat, the vessel is the largest of its kind on the East Coast at 260-feet long, 64-feet wide and 65-feet tall.

Docked at Penn's Landing, the Belle travels along the Delaware River offering views of the center city skyline and local waterfront attractions.

"We have great corporate partnerships, including our relationship with Steven Starr Events," noted O'Connor. "They’ve inspired our menus, which our chefs always prepare fresh from scratch aboard the ship. We have partnered with Sounds of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Internation- al Records, too. They are our entertainment partners for our various cruises."
