Also located on the site of the former Bethlehem Steel plant, SteelStacks™ offers a combination of performance spaces and public places. This innovative project offers awe-inspiring views of the plant's iconic furnaces - the structures from which SteelStacks draws its name.

This former industrial site is being reborn through a dynamic partnership involving the nonprofit ArtsQuest™, public televi- sion station PBS 39, the City of Bethlehem, Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority, and Sands Retail LLC, which donated the land for the project.

Upon completion, SteelStacks will host more than 1,200 performances and nine festivals annually, as well as offer al fresco dining, community celebrations and more. It is expected to attract 750,000 people a year to the city and the region.

The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, a dynamic, multi-use performing arts cen-

ter, opens its doors in May 2011. This 65,000-square foot, four-floor building features floor-to-ceiling glass walls that offer a spectacular view of the blast fur- naces, which are illuminated nightly.

Fans of live music will love the options at the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café. Look for nationally known blues, indie rock, world, jazz, pop and folk artists.

The SteelStacks campus also will be home to Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas, where film aficionados will be able to experience the best in independent, for- eign and documentary films 365 days a year. This state-the-art, alehouse-style cinema will include two screens and offer reserved seating.

Opening May 10, 2011 is PNC Plaza, an outdoor space that will serve as a venue for festivals like Musikfest® and Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem®. It also will

be home to the seasonally available SteelStacks Farmers Market and the SteelStacks Arts and Antiques Market.

Additional future venues to be opened on the SteelStacks campus are: Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks (July 2, 2011); Bethlehem Landing (coming this winter); and the PBS 39 Public Media and Education Center (September 2011).

A 159,000-square foot facility on 65 acres, this multi-purpose event space is designed to provide the ultimate “Mack Experience.” It is located just 20 minutes from Mack’s production facility in Macungie.
