special event facility. The renovations include a revamped interior design that combines colorful LED lighting with con- temporary décor.
According to Anthony Ragucci, director of sales and marketing for Entertainment Cruises’ Spirit of Philadelphia, “The Spirit of Philadelphia has three main dining decks, two of which include dance floors. Combined, the entire vessel can accom- modate groups of up to 550 for a special event.”
The first floor deck is self-contained in a cli- mate-controlled space for up to 220 peo- ple, complete with its own bar, dance floor and restrooms. The ship’s second and third decks are connected via a spiraling stair- case, and each level has its own bar. The third deck overlooks the second level dance floor, creating an open feel through- out the space. In addition to the dance floor on the second deck, this level has a DJ booth and restrooms, as well. Together the second and third decks can hold up to 330 for an event.
Because of the Spirit’s design, it is able to accommodate two completely separate events at the same time: one on its first deck, and the other on its second and third decks.

"The great thing about our space is that it really is a blank canvas,” observed Ragucci. “We can host trade shows, meetings, employee outings, gala events, client enter- taining events and more. We have the option to change our configuration to fit any design desired, so we can use high top tables for an event, or set it up with tables for a formal dinner, or rows of chairs for a meeting or presentation. The options are virtually limitless."
In early- to mid-May the Spirit of Philadelphia will add lounge furniture to its outdoor deck on the third level present- ing a comfortable atmosphere where cock- tail receptions can be enjoyed in the warmer months while docked along the waterfront or while cruising the river. "By holding a cocktail reception on our third deck, groups can enjoy both the indoor and outdoor aspects of the ship for an evening event, and then head to the sec- ond deck to have a great time on the dance floor," said Ragucci.
