Plans call for a new full service Italian restaurant named Panevino’s to open this spring on the ground floor of the parking garage adjacent to the The GoggleWorks. A six-story, 59-unit luxury GoggleWorks Apartment Complex also is under construction. This $16.7 million project is slated to open in summer 2012.


Standing as a replica of a 13th century Old English Castle, Stokesay Castle has been a Reading landmark for over 80 years and offers an elegant setting for meetings up to 600. New ownership invested more than $3 million for a top- to-bottom restoration of its banquet hall


and restaurant. Groundbreaking for a planned 75-room hotel on this 10-acre property is scheduled for the fall, as well.


Sovereign Center, in the heart of down- town Reading, is ideal for large events and trade shows. With 18,700 square feet of floor space, the facility has seating for 9,000 or more. Across Penn Street from the Sovereign Center, an estimated $12 million parking garage with over 900 spaces is underway while construction on an attached eight-story, 217-room convention center hotel is pending. Less than three blocks away, The Sovereign Performing Arts Center is a beautifully restored theater and features three ball- rooms plus grand lobby space for galas, dinner events and conferences.


“Take a Ride” to the 1.8-mile long Penn Corridor, which stretches from Penn Street in Reading through West Reading and into Wyomissing. This area continues


to thrive as the local emerging district for arts, culture, dining, entertainment and shopping. Highlights include the Reading Public Museum, an IMAX experience, GoggleWorks and the Sovereign Center.
