What’s New & Places to Meet

Dixon University Center in Harrisburg has added the latest in interactive meeting systems and SMART Technologies to their meeting facilities. The center’s new Turning Technologies ARS system enhances presentations by engaging par- ticipants, and when integrated with Microsoft PowerPoint, it can be used to collect data and assess audience responses.

Audiences are encouraged to participate in presentations or lectures by submitting responses to interactive questions using a ResponseCard keypad or other hand- held or computer devices. The result is a PowerPoint that collects real-time audi- ence feedback. This helps to improve productivity for business meetings and educational sessions.

The key is the center’s SMART Technology products that allow for col- laboration through a visual and interactive

experience. Presenters and participants can interact using whiteboards, interac- tive displays and software, plus multi- media files, applications and websites on a large, touch-enabled surface. Presenters can capture notes in digital ink and save them, or share them instantly via email.

The system also features videoconfer- encing for organizations who want to conduct a meeting between two or more participants at different sites by using a network to transmit audio and video data. Additionally, the system offers live streaming and course capture so that presenters can record and deliver multi- media presentations, webcasts or webi- nars automatically for convenient online viewing.
