ANNUAL REPORT 2010-2011 KeyAchievements


1We have provided a wide range of development opportunities for those with the highest potential to excel:


• Development programmes for 90 of NHS North East’s best aspirant, emerging and clinical leaders


• 3 open leadership summits to raise awareness of the importance of excellent leadership attended by over 400 delegates


• 6 bi-monthly NELA network events


• Uni-professional development programmes targeting hard to fill roles


2We have provided ongoing support for those already in very senior leadership roles:


• 4 improvement master classes with expert speakers including Paul Plsek attended by over 200 delegates


• Executive coach training of over 50 senior individuals to ensure that our leaders are supported post- development


• Regional co-ordination of the National Leadership Council’s Top Leaders Programme


3We have made progress in ensuring that our leaders are representative of the community we serve:


• Increase in representation of women, staff from a BME origin and staff with a disability in the NHS North East talent pool*


• Delivery of the inclusion project to address issues surrounding the lack of BME representation at a senior level
