Computers & Technology Outlook: Part 1
Examine Microsoft Outlook’s E-mail and Contacts components. Learn how to compose, send and receive messages, reply to and forward mail, attach files, delete unwanted and read mail, mark and file important mail. Using the Contacts component, we will add people and companies to your contacts and create e-mail distribution lists. Finally, we will look at customizing your e-mail and contacts settings.

Outlook: Part 2
Explore the Calendar and Task components of this Microsoft application, defining rules to organize the e-mail in your Inbox. Learn how to efficiently navigate your calendar, enter appointments, set reminders and schedule meetings. You will also learn how to schedule recurring appointments, schedule all-day events and print your calendar in a number of different formats. In addition, you will examine task management, creating tasks, assigning them to categories, setting reminders, updating status on reminder items and deleting them when complete. Prerequisite: Outlook Part 1.

Learn PowerPoint 2007, an intense graphics presentation application. Begin by navigating through the PowerPoint window, using document themes, and reviewing the new Ribbon interface. Then, create your own slide show, add slides, and create bulleted lists. By the end of the first lesson, you will deliver a presentation! Next, you will work with design concepts: copying text and objects, setting character spacing, rearranging slides, and more. You will work with clip art, animation, and sound to give your presentations more punch and excitement. Finally, you will place an Excel workbook into a PowerPoint presentation.

Your teen is ready to enter the world of social media, but are you? Help your teen understand how to cultivate and maintain a positive online identy. Learn the basics of popular sites such as Facebook, You Tube and Twitter as well as how to set privacy settings on each of these sites. While in class, begin mapping out a social media agreement between you and your teen.
