Private and Semi-private Learn-to-Swim Lessons Youth and Adult


Minnetonka Learn-to-Swim offers 30-minute private and semi-private lessons with our experienced instructors for children and adults throughout the year. Whether working with children on basic skills or helping adults train for their first triathlon, our instructors customize each lesson to meet the needs of the participant. Open Swim


Swimming fun for the whole family! A qualified lifeguard will be on duty. Children who are unable to swim in the deep water must be accompanied by an adult. Lap swimmers are welcome. Please pay the lifeguard $3.00 per swimmer before swimming. Showers and locker rooms are available. Bring a suit, towel and your own lock if you wish.

Adult Swimming & Fitness Classes Ages 18 & up


Minnetonka Aquatics’ adult swimming classes are offered to participants 18 and up with various swimming backgrounds. Adult classes focus on the same swimming foundations as our Learn-to-Swim & Swim Club programs, to empower every participant with the skills, knowledge, and confidence in their swimming ability to maintain a lifelong commitment to safety, wellness, and enjoyment in the water.


Adult Intro to Swimming


This is a 45 minute, 6-week class that is designed to introduce participants to swimming. Swimmers will be introduced to the foundations of swimming & feeling comfortable in the water. Body position (front & back floating), streamline (controlled glide) and full freestyle and backstroke strokes will be covered. Student to instructor ratio for this class is 1:4. Intro to Fitness Swimming How to Register for Youth Lessons


1. First, find the level (Greenhorn, Sailor, etc.) that corresponds to your child’s age and class (1, 2, etc.) that matches their swimming ability. (A Placement Guide is available on our website.)


2. If you are unable to determine the class in which to register, contact the Learn-to-Swim Coordinator at 952-401-5225 or aimee.hukill@minnetonka.k12.mn.us.


3. Visit www.minnetonkaaquatics.org to register for classes at the Minnetonka Aquatics Center (Middle School East) or Middle School West.


This is a 1 hour, 6-week class that is designed to expand participants’ knowledge of fitness swimming. Swimmers will polish both the backstroke & freestyle strokes as well as build endurance & become familiar with the concepts of fitness swimming, including sets, flip turns, pace clocks & heart rate training. New swimming skills such as the breaststroke & butterfly will also be introduced. This class is a great place to start if you’re interested in becoming involved with the Minnetonka Masters Swim Team. Participants of this class will be able to attend Minnetonka Masters practices for a free one week trial. Student to instructor ratio for this class is 1:6.


Masters Swim Program


The Minnetonka Masters Swim program is an adult swim training program for the master swimmer, tri-athlete or individual wishing to participate in structured and directed practice.
