Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics STEM
What are STEM classes? STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.
Exposing children to STEM concepts early and in a fun way, builds upon a their natural curiosity, engages them in real-world problem solving activities and can help develop the 21st century skills they will need for the future.
Mad Science System 3 Grades 1-5
Mad Science® makes staying after school fun. Our interactive
and hands-on activities get children excited about science. Each week students take home something that encourages further science exploration. This system has exciting classes including Forces, Electricity and Flight along with Structures, Pressure and Waves. No class April 22 or May 30.

Robots & Rockets for Girls Ages 7-12
Join other girls exploring robots and rockets! Build your own model rockets and participate in class model rocket launches. Program a LEGO Roverbot with your team and learn about women pioneers in these fields. Take home your model rockets and robots you build in camp. Instructors: Mad Science

Towering Gumball Machine Ages 6-8
Learn basic carpentry skills using saws, jigs, and hammers to build a two-foot tall gumball tower. Design a mechanism to release one gumball at a time. Engineer gates, drops and shoots down a twisting, turning track to deliver a gumball to the candy tray. Instructors: Science Museum of Minnesota

Forensic Lab Grades 2-5
Use forensic science to help solve mysteries. Find and collect evidence, reconstruct a mystery scene and the face of the suspect, examine footprints, identify fingerprints left at the scene and more. Instructors: Mad Science

Engineering: Crazy Action Contraptions Grades 1-4
Working in pairs you will work with special LEGO® gears,
levers and engineering components to construct a Skittle Top, Pinwheel, Goal Kicker, Coat Hanger Daredevil and more! Build models and then discuss the engineering science behind it. This hands-on class shows students how engineering can be fun, yet educational. Instructors: Computer Explorers

eXtreme MOBILE electroniX Grades 1-5
Make and take home 20-30 electronic projects over the course of the session and use those projects to explore basic aspects of electricity, including measuring ohms, amps, voltage, open and closed circuits and more. We will only use DC current (batteries); no AC current (electric outlets) will be used. Fee includes $20 for materials. Instructors: Youth Enrichment League
