lacking before. Each part of the building, not just the auditoriums, is an inviting space that expertly merges the past into the present and the future. And then there are the people. Whether it is the magic of the theatre that has instilled such passion in every single person involved, or it is their enthusiasm for their own specialist area, it is fair say that you will rarely find a more impassioned collection of people, brimming with pride for what they have achieved together. It’s been a long road, travelled by some strong characters, and whilst the true success of the project isn’t yet measurable - it is footfall that will ultimately determine that - the team already have a lot to be proud of. RSC Executive Director, Vikki Heywood, summed the feeling up nicely: “The Company, design team, project team, construction team and financial backers were perfectly matched. Made up of a bunch of talented, opinionated, ambitious perfectionists, life was high octane, fanatical, pressured and fun. We are all very tired, but we are equally pleased and proud of everything we have done.”
