Concorde is a subsidiary of the Groupe du Louve and its parent company is run by Starwood Capital Group, a real estate investment firm.
Internationally the group operates resorts and hotels in Czech, Spain, Switzerland, Japan and the USA. There are three operations in Africa – the Concorde El Salam Hotel in Cairo (with casino), the Concorde El Salam Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh which has no casino and Les Berges du Lac Concorde in Tunisia.
LUCIENBARRIERE is the French market leader of casinos and hotels and is heavily active in Europe with 36 casinos in France, three in Switzerland and one in Egypt -the Casino El Gezirah Barriere in Cairo.
GENTINGCASINOSLIMITED became the new operator of the Nile Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cairo in late 2009 and will have the casino concession for an initial period of 10 years. The new operation will be re- branded ‘Crockfords on the Nile’ and is part of the company’s strategy to expand its casino resort network and develop its position in the premium market through its key high end London casino clubs.
The hotel was owned by Misr Hotels Company, a leading government controlled hotel owner and operator in Egypt and the hotel is now due to be refurbished. The hotel is considered an icon in the capital and has contributed to the country’s travel industry for the past 50 years. It first opened in 1958.

CAIRO Cairo is in Northern Egypt on the river Nile, at the apex of the Delta. It is the largest city in Africa with a population of 14 million and is a city of contrast of both modern architecture and traditional buildings competing for space. The Pyramids and the Sphinx can be found here and oriental and western cuisines. It is a city of wealth and extreme poverty adjacent to each other.
ALGADEEDCASINO is located in the Shepheard Hotel and includes a VIP area, table games and a slot area with 20 slots. It is operated by CTAG (IGGR)
CAIROMARRIOTHOTEL&OMARKHAYYAMCASINO is a luxury resort in the city’s Zamalek area and is Egypt’s largest casino. The

operations in Egypt has always been fairly lucrative. There is an
inexpensive and
skilled labour pool available plus
inexpensive energy costs.Operation costs are
significantly lower than say those in Europe or America
andmarketing costs are also lowas the hotels, vehicles and
food are all cheaper although imported alcohol is still
subject to a 300per cent tax so casinos do not have a
traditional ‘free drinks’ policy however.

It has Georgian inspired architecture and offers an array of sports, leisure and business facilities. Operated by Concorde Hotels and Resorts, the casino offers 20 slots and six table games.
CASINOSEMIRAMISINTERCONTINENTALHOTEL was opened in 1990 and underwent extensive renovation and refurbishment work to enhance its club style atmosphere in 2005 followed by a facelift renovation this year. It is located in the heart of Cairo on the east bank of the River Nile and there are 860 rooms in the hotel. There are 14 gaming tables and 37 slots and the casinos saw around 80,000 visitors in 2009. It is operated by Casinos Austria International.
CAESARSCASINO is located in the five star Four Seasons First Residence Hotel, Giza.
