EUROPEAN UPDATE Aristocrat roll-outViridianWS


AristocratTechnologies has brought forwarded the release of its new cabinet


Aristocrat Technologies has brought forward plans to roll out its new VIRIDIAN WS cabinet throughout Europe, announcing that virtually all new casino games shown at the forthcoming ICE exhibition will be presented in the new widescreen format. The majority of games on stand 3415 at Earls Court will be available for immediate release, subject to regulatory approvals.


Aristocrat’s General Manager – Europe, Daniel Lindsay stated: “European casino operators may be the last geographical group to witness this phenomenon, but thanks to a major rescheduling of our global development and manufacturing processes they will now be among the first to have the opportunity of placing VIRIDIAN WS on their gaming floors, perhaps as much as six months earlier than initially planned.”


Running on Aristocrat’s powerful GEN 7 platform, the widescreen incarnation of the award-winning VIRIDIAN series is designed to give players an amazing new gaming experience, offering improved ergonomics, easier accessibility and larger screens.

Praesepe continue AGCacquisitions


UK-based adult gaming centre operator Praesepe has agreed to acquire a further 14 adult gaming centres fromcompanies within the UK Noble Organisation for £2.3m cash. Estimated EBITDA attributable to the sites being acquired is £0.5m on a full-year basis. Praesepe CEO Nick Harding commented on the acquisition: “These additional sites provide us with an opportunity to generate further economies of scale and deliver increased revenue and earnings without the cost and time delay of starting up entirely new greenfield sites.”

Aristocrat’s new Nteractiv LCD programmable button technology also provides an optional extra to put more interactivity at players’ fingertips. The industry’s first full-colour LCD display buttons can rotate messaging to attract players and deliver further instructions or simply wish them luck when playing, whilst the Big Bash button can feature bespoke animations.


GLI Australia integrated intoGLI global process


Wrapping up an incredibly positive year, Gaming Laboratories International announced that GLI Australia has been integrated into GLI’s powerful global submission process, setting in place a complete strategy with a new common database to help suppliers quickly enter the global marketplace. Additionally, GLI has promoted three managers in its Australian labs.


Ian Hughes, GLI Managing Director of the Asia/Pacific Region said, “Integrating GLI Australia into the company’s global submission process means that suppliers based in Australia now have the same seamless, streamlined process as suppliers who use GLI labs on other continents. Our exclusive approach is different, because our exclusive technologies – namely GLIAccess and GLI Link – work in concert to ease

GLI also announced three key staff advances. In the company’s Adelaide lab, Samantha Powell has been promoted to Manager of Compliance and Quality Assurance and Daniel McDougall has been promoted to Group Engineering Manager. While based in Adelaide, Powell’s and McDougall’s responsibilities extend to all three of GLI’s labs in Australia. Sydney lab- based Alvin Foo has also been promoted to Business Development Manager. Foo will oversee development in all three of GLI’s Australian labs.

Atronichas announced the restructuring of its EMEA machine division sales team. Athanasios (Sakis) Isaakidis has been appointed Sr. Director and General Manager Machine Division in the EMEA region, reporting to Walter Bugno, CEO of Lottomatica Group’s Gaming Division which comprises Atronic and


Spielo. Within Sakis’ group, Stuart German is responsible for overseeing slot machine sales as Sales Director Machine Division EMEA reporting to Sakis. “As Sakis and Stuart work with our customers to meet the challenges and opportunities in their markets, we are confident that this integrated approach will translate into increased performance and growth for our customers’ operations,” said Lottomatica’s Gaming Division CEO Walter Bugno.


TheOntarioLotteryandGaming Corporation (OLG) and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) have selected Bally Technologies as the preferred vendor to replace their Class 3 Gaming Management Systems. OLG and BCLC are working collaboratively on the project, which encompasses the replacement of the Gaming Management Systems in each province to monitor all slot machines at multiple sites within each jurisdiction, as well as numerous slot accounting, player marketing, business intelligence, and media-management solutions. The two provincial Crown corporations issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) in December 2009 before selecting Bally as their preferred vendor. Implementation of the Bally system in both provinces is targeted to begin in mid-year, pending regulatory approvals, and is expected to take more than a year to complete.
