Fun in the Sun climbs to the No.1 spot in UK charts as players warm to its charms


Just as Britain became gripped by the first snows of winter, Crystal’s category B4 game ‘Fun in the Sun’ climbed to the number one spot in the UK B2B Cat B4 (£1/£250) weekly charts. Fun in the Sun, with its summer holiday theme is proving a real hit with players - despite or perhaps because of the weather.


Simon McCarthy, Sales and Marketing Director of Crystal’s parent company JPM group explained, ‘Fun in the Sun has been a consistent performer in the Members’ Club sector and we’re continuing to receive orders, to the point where to meet demand, we will now transfer a limited number of Fun in the Sun production to the popular Linear cabinet with a note recycler option. All future releases of Fun in the Sun will be on the Pluto 6 platform.’

WMS Gaming open Reno state-of-the-art office


WMS Gaming unveiled a new state-of-the-art office facility in southeast Reno last month. President Orrin Edidin was joined by employees and Reno Mayor Bob Cashell for the ribbon-cutting and dedication. The US$11m structure is the first new office building to be built in the Reno area in more than a year.


Constructed on 3.60 acres of land, the new 53,038sq.ft. facility, will house 80 employees, made up of WMS’ local sales and distribution, product development, systems development, WAP operations and gaming operations teams. Prior to the new Reno offices, WMS - recently named by Forbes’ annual list of “America’s 100 best Small Companies” - leased two area- facilities for 10 and 5 years, respectively.

built and designed by United Construction, was created to be employee friendly and energy efficient. Featuring solar panels across the roof and motion sensing lighting and external light sensing window shading, the facility will house a 1,216sq.ft. employee fitness center and an employee lounge. Large break rooms will be available for employee use on both the first and second floors, along with a patio off the first-floor.


WMS President, Orrin Edidin commented that the bright décor and conveniences, such a weight room in the structure, are designed to make employees happy and more productive. “We want to provide the best environment for employees to work and flourish in and as we continue to make these innovative products we can continue to succeed." he explained.


InspiredGamingGrouphas appointed Harmen Brenninkmeijer as Senior Vice President of Strategic Market Development. Mr. Brenninkmeijer will be


responsible for the continued expansion of Inspired’s Casino, Bingo and Virtual Sports products into growing International markets, with a particular focus on casino products in emerging gaming markets.

ATRONIC International has named Marcel Heutmekers as Senior Director for Latin America and Asia. Mr. Heutmekers reports directly to Walter Bugno,


CEO of Lottomatica Group´s Gaming Division, which comprises ATRONIC and SPIELO. As Senior Director for Latin American and Asia, Mr. Heutmekers will be responsible for leading ATRONIC´s Latin American and Asian teams, and for developing strategies to further support and grow ATRONIC’s performance and presence in these evolving markets.


Anewreportestimatesthat Asia’s and Australia’s gambling industries will match that of the US by 2014. The PricewaterhouseCoopers report predicts the market that includes Macau, Singapore, South Korea and Australia will generate US$62.9bn by 2014. Revenue for companies in those markets was $21.8bn in 2009. In the United States, 2009 gambling revenue was $57.2bn, including all commercial and American Indian casinos. The report expects that to edge up to $68.3bn by 2014. American Indian casinos had $26.5bn in revenue in 2009, with projections that its will grow 2.7 per cent per year to $30.3bn in 2014.


The report estimates commercial gambling in the US will grow to $38bn in 2014 from $30.7bn last year. This includes regional casinos outside Nevada and New Jersey growing 6.1 per cent per year and gambling revenue in Atlantic City dropping 3.2 per cent per year. Gambling in Nevada is expected to grow 4.1 per cent per year and generate $12.5bn in 2014. In contrast, the report predicts that gambling revenue in Macau will grow almost 25 per cent over each of the next five years, to $45.1bn in 2014. If accurate, that number would surpass commercial gambling in the United States.
