ABTT & ITEAC LONDON

Following 2009’s show being disrupted by the London Underground, this year’s ABTT returned to form with a full exhibitor capacity and record-breaking visitor attendance. Signs of a strong show came early, with pre-registrations soaring to 28% above the previous year, and the suggestion that the Show is considered the key industry showcase for technical theatre in the UK, would seem a resolute one. Occupying The Royal Horticultural Halls, the show is not only tailored, it is quirky in its set-up and focused on quality over quantity. Some of the highlights of this year’s show included White Light and Arcola Ener- gy’s launch of their innovative portable fuel cell powered lighting system, Trantec’s channel 38 ready, ‘Racked’n’Ready’ systems and Martin Professional’s growing

range of creative visual solution products including the MAC 350 Entour. Alcons Audio showed off its new LR7 micro line-array system and its LR7 bass system, Nexo made its first appearance at the Show with its RS 18 sub and its new PS R2 Series, and Yamaha Commercial Audio showed an Ethersound version of its M7CL digital mixing desk, along with its latest networking systems. Soundcraft’s Vi1 digital mixer was certainly a point of interest of the Sound Technology stand, along with the Crown i-Tech power amps. Avolites had two new edition with Expert Titan with Touch Wing and the Pearl Tiger Touch and XL Video worthily walked away with The Best Stand Award. Red Square showed Tannoy, Innovason and APG and Robert Juliat appeared with distributor White Light.
