Famed for its fantastic shore diving, crystal clear
waters and fabulous marine diversity, Bonaire is
widely recognised as one of the Caribbean’s
premier diving destinations. This crescent
shaped island, which forms part of the Dutch
Antilles, is just 21 miles long but offers a
stunning coastline of beautiful fringing reefs that
features over 90 dive sites.
AN ECO-FRIENDLY DIVER’S PARADISE
Bonaire lies just 50 miles north of Venezuela
and is home to some of the best-preserved reefs
and marine life in the world. It rarely rains on
Bonaire and consequently the waters that
surround the island are rich with nutrients,
supporting a marine diversity that is arguably
unequalled in the Caribbean. In 1979, the island
recognised the importance of its natural marine
habitat and created the Caribbean’s first
protected marine park.
DIVING FREEDOM
Bonaire has become known as the ‘home of
diving freedom’, with the majority of the 90 dive
sites accessible from the shore. Although boat
diving is also available, most divers visiting
Bonaire choose to hire a vehicle to explore further
afield, and dive or snorkel at their leisure. Bonaire
is the home of uncomplicated, stress-free diving.
All dive packs include unlimited access to air,
24 hours a day, allowing you to dive at any time,
day or night, within safe diving limits.
CORAL SPAWNING TO PIER DIVING
Home to over 120 different types of coral and
more than 300 species of tropical fish, Bonaire’s
pristine reef system also attracts turtles and rarely
seen frogfish as well as seahorses, which have
become the island’s emblem. Bonaire’s well
protected waters are also one of the best places
to enjoy the spectacular sight of coral spawning,
which happens only twice a year shortly after the
full moon.
Bonaire can also claim to have two of the world’s
best pier dives with ‘Town pier’ in the capital and
the ‘Salt pier’, situated at the southern end of the Staying on Bonaire
