A tranquil, palm fringed oasis
in northern Sinai
Nuweiba is situated around 70km north of
Dahab and its palm-fringed beaches nestle
magnificently between the deep blue of the Gulf
of Aqaba and the stunning mountains of the
Sinai. Nuweiba offers a quiet getaway with some
fantastic shore diving that makes this resort a
great choice for novice divers, snorkellers and
underwater photography fans.
A PHOTOGRAPHER’S PARADISE
The prolific marine life and the easily accessible
shore diving available in Nuweiba are ideal for
underwater photography. The beautiful dive sites,
reached by jeep and camel, and the house reefs
promise some spectacular scenery. Be amazed
by multicoloured nudibranchs, several species of
seahorse, stonefish, frogfish and many more. One
house reef is even home to more than 20 lionfish!
ABU GALUM NATIONAL PARK
The reefs of the Abu Galum National Park are a
highlight of a week’s diving in Nuweiba. In
particular, Ras Mumlach is situated around 30km
south of Nuweiba and offers a beautiful coral
garden with fantastic table corals. There is also a
steep wall, which drops down to 70m plus. The
variety of marine life is outstanding, with many
barracuda, groupers, angelfish, butterflyfish,
moray eels and even turtles.
DIVE THE DEVIL’S HEAD
Ras Shetan or Devil’s Head is a well-known site
located around a 25 minute drive north of
Nuweiba. The dives start from a Bedouin camp. DIVE PACKS & COURSES
