This was a particularly hard-fought category, Commerce Marketing
but NCL emerged victorious because of the
strength of its new programme, NCL Keith Prowse
University. Judges felt the programme, which Attraction Tickets
launched last year with the look and feel of a
university campus, was “accessible, human Kuoni Travel
and grown-up”. They were particularly
impressed with the online “Dean” who was Royal Caribbean
available to answer questions from students Cruise Line
about NCL and the course. Judges also
liked the programme’s use of social media, Sandals Resorts
including a “yearbook” in which students
could create a personal profile and Tourism Australia
communicate with each other. NCL was felt
to have shown real commitment to training, Tui UK & Ireland
increasing investment in the area by 25%
to ensure the trade better understood the
line’s Freestyle Cruising concept.
