Schurter Universal 1500A Fuse Has VDE and UL Approvals

Santa Rosa, CA — Schurter’s Universal Modular fuse, UMT-H, offers a 1500A breaking capacity at rated voltages of 277VAC/250VDC. The compact, high performance fuse now has VDE approval in addition to UL approval. This time-lag fuse pro- vides overcurrent and short circuit protection in various industrial con- trol applications, including intrinsi- cally safe applications. The “intrinsic safety” method is

one of the most common techniques used for achieving safety protection with lower voltage or power equip- ment. This method restricts the available electrical and thermal energy in a system so that ignition of a hazardous atmosphere (such as explosive gas, dust, or electrical arc- ing) cannot occur. The UMT-H’s high breaking capacity of 1500A, plus the

Peerless to Distribute DDPLED Engineered Solutions

Bethpage, NY — Peerless Electronics has signed an agreement to become an authorized stocking distributor for DDPLED Engineered Solutions. DDPLED, formerly known as Data Display, provides tailored LED solu- tions that achieve the optimum bal- ance of performance and cost. Peerless

>10mm spacing between end caps, combined with the ability to be impermeable to conformal coating makes the fuse suitable for use in such intrinsically safe applications according to 60079-11. The UMT-H fuse is available in a total of 19 rated currents between 160mA and 10A at voltages up to 277VAC and 250VDC. The UMT-H measures at 5.3 x 16mm, which is a smaller alternative to the classic cylindrically-shaped cartridge fuses (e.g. 5 x 20mm). The smaller footprint saves valuable board space, allowing for further

downsizing of equipment. With its square design, the UMT-H is also suited for more cost-effective, auto-

mated assembly. The high breaking capacity fuse meets the IEC 60127- 7/1, UL 248-14 and CSA C22.2 stan- dards along with its VDE and UL approvals. Additional applications include power supplies, electromobil- ity medical and telecommunication applications as well as 277VAC utili-

ty-connected equipment. Contact: Schurter Inc., 447

will be stocking a wide selection of long-life state-of-the-art LED lamp replacements for industrial electronic, LED panel lights, cartridge lights, snap in LED indicator lights and bolt in panel lights from DDP. The company’s experienced

LED design engineering group deliv- ers an efficient LED light source design to meet customer specifica- tions, while its ISO 9001 manufac- turing in El Segundo, CA ensures quality, and consistency. LEDs mean longer life, are

energy efficient, remain cool to the touch as no heat is generated, are perfect solutions to messy labor- intensive lamp replacement issues, and offer brighter, easy-to-view light- ing to improve the performance and appearance of products. Peerless will also be stocking LED annunciator retrofit lamps that provide backlight-

ing to annunciator panels. Contact: Peerless, PO Box 9052,
