e2v Extends Reliability of Freescale Microprocessors

Chelmsford, Essex, UK — e2v has re- leased extended reliability versions of Freescale’s T4 series of micro- processors. The high- reliability T4 series of microprocessors, includes T4240 (24 virtual cores), T4160 (16 virtual cores) and T4080 (8 virtual cores). The e6500 Power Architec- ture™ core, which includes the Al- tiVec SIMD Engine, provides lead- ing-edge processing capabilities and makes T4240 the highest perform-

ance microprocessor ever released by e2v with computing abilities close to 200Gflop. Operating in military tempera-

ture range –55 to +125°C, the e2v T4 series offers many connectivity op- tions, with specific calibration per- formed by e2v to enable high speed interfaces over extended tempera- ture ranges. The series will also be part of the company’s Semiconductor Lifecycle Management (SLiM™) pro- gram, which guarantees continued support for programs requiring long- term availability.

T4240 microprocessor has 24 virtual cores.

According to the company, the

e2v extended reliability versions of Freescale’s T4 series are an excellent choice for customers looking for high performance computing in applica- tions where there are harsh and size constrained environments, and where there is limited possibility to

effectively cool the electronic board. Contact: e2v, 106 Waterhouse
