6 Watt DC-DC Converters from XP Power Have High Efficiency


Sunnyvale, CA — XP Power has introduced the ITQ series of 6 Watt DC-DC converters. Packaged in a compact SIP 8-pin format, with a footprint measuring just 0.86 x 0.44 x 0.36-in. (22 x 11 x 9mm), the ITQ


series occupies less board space, giv- ing designers more room to add fea- tures or the ability to reduce end- product size. The converter delivers a power density of up to 44 Watts per cubic inch and is highly efficient, typ- ically 87 percent, making it well suit- ed to today’s green standard end products. The high efficiency means the


ITQ produces less wasted heat and does not require forced airflow or heatsinking for cooling. The fully regulated single and dual output


models accept a wide 4:1 input volt- age range of 9-36VDC or 18-75VDC. Single output models provide stan- dard +3.3, +5, +9, +12, +15, +24VDC and duals ±5, ±12 or ±15VDC. Standard input/output isolation


is rated at 1.5kVDC with an optional 3kVDC isolation available in -H mod- els. All models provide a remote on/off input that allows external con- trol of the converter for sequencing or automatically powering it on or off. The ITQ series can operate in most environments without requir-


ing forced airflow and has a wide operating temperature range from –40 to +100°C. Full output power can be delivered up to +70°C with- out derating. The ITQ range complements

base enables JTAG Technologies to invest in and improve upon its boundary-scan technology. The new controller, which can handle both digital and analog signals, is a good example of this. An analog standard is available, but not used. That’s no help. However the company believes it is possible to breach the analog ban with its mixed-signal boundary input/output (I/O) control. It uses the JTAG/boundary-scan method to make it possible to test the phase between the digital heart of a micro- processor and the analog outside world.
