Saline, MI — Saline Lectronics, Inc., an electronics contract manufacturer, recently purchased and in- stalled a Seica Pilot 4D V8 Flying Probe Tester. This new system further enhances the EMS provider’s testing capabilities and will allow the company to better support each of its clients’ spe- cial testing requirements. The Pilot 4D V8 represents the latest frontier
in flying probe test technology. It is the complete solution for maximum performance, offering the highest test speed for low-to-medium-volume re- quirements. The test coverage and flexibility of the unit
make it suitable for prototyping situations, and the enhanced system can help with the repairing of any type of board. Its vertical architec- ture is the optimum solution for probing both sides of the printed cir- cuit board assembly (PCBA) simul- taneously, eliminating added stress or flex to the unit under test (UUT). The new Seica Pilot 4D V8 can
test PCBAs with eight electrical fly- ing probes, two open-fix mobile probes, two mobile power probes, two cameras and two thermal probes. These power probes are used to power up the UUT without requiring any additional wiring. The high- resolution cameras will make the flying probe process in- credibly precise and create a smarter, intuitive tester. Also, they will scan serial barcodes automati- cally, in keeping with Lectronics’ traceability requirements. Saline Lectronics procured this
system with several enhanced test options, including a diagnostic tool, offline programming capabilities, an enhanced offline repair station li- cense, and the Siemens CAD trans- lator software package. The Diag- nostic Expert System will help to streamline the troubleshooting process, and allow test engineers to better analyze the root cause for fail- ures. Extending this troubleshooting assistance, the repair station license will allow the company’s repair tech-
