Norland Managed Services and iVolt

help an International Investment Bank reduce their UK carbon output

A global leader in investment management and investment services established a sustainability program in 2007 that measures, monitors and reduces the global electricity energy consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions in their estate.

Norland Managed Services, part of CBRE Group are recognised as one of the leading facilities, energy and project management providers in the UK. Norland manage the UK BNY Mellon sites and were tasked with reducing the electricity consumption. As a preferred supplier iVolt were asked by Norland to look at one of the Bank ’s sites to see what savings could be achieved following an initiative from Norland’s Energy Manager.

FACTS AT A GLANCE PROJECT/ CUSTOMER DATE OF INSTALL

After a detailed site survey by iVolt engineers an 800A/528 kVa unit was proposed to power the whole site and reduce the voltage from an average of 241v to 220v. The unit was installed in November 2013 under the supervision of Norlands team and the Bank were immediately able to see the benefits through the patented IRT monitor which measures and records savings performance of the unit in real time.

The Bank were so impressed with an immediate saving of approx. £2000 per month that they commissioned Norland to upgrade the unit with iVolt’s GPRS modem so that the savings data can be seen by anyone through the secure web based portal
