The Dutch go Brazilian
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is now serving meals designed by award-winning Brazilian chef, Rodrigo Oliveira, on its flights from Brazil to Amsterdam. The meals will be served in both Business and Economy. Oliveira is the chef and owner of the renowned São Paulo restaurant Mocotó, whose superb Brazilian cuisine has been awarded two stars by the Guia 4 Rodas. He was voted Brazil’s Chef of the Year and won the Best New Restaurant Award with Mocotó in the same year. Brazil is an important growth market
for KLM, particularly through its recently launched, close partnership with the Brazilian airline GOL. By entering into a collaboration with the new chef, KLM is preparing to harness the benefits the forthcoming major sporting events will bring: the football World Cup in June and July this year and the 2016 Olympic Games. South American cuisine is extremely popular and accessible to a wide range of tastes.

LAN uncorks a Premium choice
LAN Airlines has unveiled its new wine list that will be featured onboard LAN and its affiliates’ Premium Business cabins throughout 2014. After a rigorous pre-selection process, 300 wines remained for the final three- day tasting process and the panel chose 30 wines from this to be served on LAN Airlines’ Premium Business cabin. The wines were chosen by experts including Latin America’s only Master Sommelier, Hector Vergara. The choices aim to represent the best of South America and to add value to the premium passenger experience. Of the 30 wines selected, 18 are Chilean, including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Carménère, and Pinot Noir. The other 12 wines are Argentine such as Torrontés, Malbec and Chardonnay. The 30 wines will be featured on six distinct wine menus throughout the year each featuring five wines and the lists will be updated every two months from May 2014 to March 2015.
